How to properly clean moonshine from fusel oils. Purification of moonshine from A to Z - coal, oil, milk and other methods of purifying distillate

Purification of moonshine is a rather important stage that allows you to radically improve the taste and aroma of the product. After the first and second distillation, and even after the high-quality separation of the "heads" and the use of a dry pot, the finished alcohol will contain a sufficient amount of oils and other benzene compounds that will spoil the aroma of moonshine.

It is worth noting that the use of serious methods of purifying moonshine from fusel oils can make it meaningless to create moonshine from fruits: aromatic oils, for which the creation of fruit or berry mash was started, will be removed after successful cleaning, and you will get almost pure alcohol. Therefore, the use of methods for cleaning moonshine at home will be appropriate only if you strive to get the purest possible alcohol; in the case of fruit, berry mash, it is enough just not to use a dry stew.

Consider the main methods for cleaning moonshine at home.

One of the main and most popular methods for cleaning moonshine is to use activated carbon, which can be easily bought in tablets at any pharmacy. Activated carbon is an ideal absorbent, it was created specifically to absorb various impurities.

A distinctive feature of this material is that it contains a large number of tiny pores, therefore it has a colossally large specific surface per unit mass (1 gram of activated carbon has about 1500 m2 of surface). In addition, activated carbon tablets can be additionally crushed in a mortar, which will further increase the contact area with alcohol.

Purification of moonshine with activated carbon is carried out in the following two ways.

In the first case, during the distillation itself, the alcohol from the refrigerator passes through the activated carbon layer. To do this, paper is placed in the funnel, on which crushed activated carbon is poured. This method is fast enough, but not very effective: the coal at the passage gets dirty quickly enough, the edges remain clean. Moreover, it is not possible to use a large amount of coal.

In the second case, after distillation, activated carbon is added to the container with alcohol. To do this, activated carbon in the amount of 50 grams per 1 liter of alcohol is crushed into powder (you can use a simple coffee grinder), after which the activated carbon is poured into the container and left so for 1, 2 or even 3 weeks. After that, the alcohol must be filtered - for this, cotton wool is used between two layers of gauze, or an ordinary water filter that retains the crushed activated carbon powder.

All the world's companies producing brandy, cognac, etc. are engaged in the purification of alcohols with charcoal. As a rule, cleaning is carried out directly during distillation: through a 3-5 meter column of coal, alcohol passes immediately after the refrigerator, and enters the collection container already cleaned. It is believed that charcoal purifies alcohols and moonshine even better than activated one. However, using it, of course, at home is not as convenient as activated. Coal such as BAU-A, BAU-MF, as well as Akvasorb coal are well suited.

Cleaning moonshine with milk

The author of this site has an extremely negative attitude to the cleaning of moonshine with milk and considers this method to be anti-scientific rubbish. However, the high popularity of this method forces us to at least mention the very practice of some moonshiners of using milk to clean the moonshine.

People who have skipped chemistry classes at school and who are confident in their talent as moonshiners claim that moonshine is easily refined with milk. According to them, after pouring milk into the moonshine, a precipitate forms, which supposedly characterizes the fact that the milk has taken over all the fusel oils and dirt. In fact, the milk will curd into curd even in ideal pure alcohol, since milk, like any protein, simply coagulates from alcohol. Long protein molecules begin to break down, clump together, and the clumps begin to fall. And the point here is not at all in fusel oils - this is how any protein reacts to alcohol. Even one cocktail is based on the principle of milk coagulation - "" - where plain cream fall into the same mass just from strong absinthe.

Using milk to clean moonshine is a vicious practice that spoils the final taste of the drink, adds extra compounds to the product, while leaving all fusel oils and benzene compounds in place. From a purely chemical point of view, milk is not capable of purifying alcohol, so that the supposedly “experienced moonshiners” who brew “according to grandma's recipe". Alas, science is not on their side.

Purification of moonshine with potassium permanganate (manganese, potassium permanganate).

Purification of moonshine with potassium permanganate, or rather, potassium permanganate is an even more vicious practice than using milk. With milk, you simply spoil the drink with new fats, proteins and other impurities that are an integral part of the protein drink. When using potassium permanganate, you poison your drink with potassium hydroxide and manganese dioxide.

Home-grown moonshiners, poorly familiar with chemistry and physics, offer this method of purifying moonshine with potassium permanganate. Potassium permanganate is poured either directly into the container with alcohol itself, or potassium permanganate is preliminarily diluted in water, and the already concentrated solution is poured into a container with ready-made alcohol. According to these "experts", the sediment that appears after a few hours in the form of black-brown lumps is a sign of a high degree of purification of the moonshine.

In fact, this is complete heresy. Potassium permanganate is one of the strongest oxidizing agents available to mankind, it can even oxidize water. What he actually does when adding alcohol to an aqueous solution. The following reaction occurs:

2K 2 MnO 4 + 2H 2 O -> 2KMnO 4 + MnO 2 ↓ + 3KOH

Tetravalent manganese oxide MnO2 and precipitates into a dirty brown precipitate.

Of course, potassium permanganate is capable of oxidizing fusel oils, ethers and benzenes, however, it cannot selectively oxidize only them. The price of such cleaning is the high content of potassium hydroxide inside the alcohol after such "cleaning" and manganese compounds.

Thus, purifying moonshine with potassium permanganate is not just pointless, but extremely dangerous. And the arguments from the series “We cleanse like this all my life and nothing!”, “My grandfather drank such moonshine all his life and did not die” are classic manifestations of ordinary human idiocy.

Cleaning moonshine with lye (baking soda and baking soda)

The third way to purify moonshine from would-be chemists is to purify moonshine with soda. A huge number of forums, sites and blogs describe the process of cleaning moonshine with soda. Sites steal information from each other, rewrite it, spend a lot of time retelling a useless recipe, however, no one gets around to checking this recipe even from the chemistry book for the 9th grade.

This dangerous recipe is that soda must be added to alcohol. Say, after adding soda to alcohol, a sediment appears at the bottom - this is the "pollution" that soda caught. It is recommended, after adding soda, to clean the moonshine from this sediment by filtration.

Now let's turn to science and see what exactly happens when water is added to alcohol.

It is noteworthy that alkali does not react with alcohol directly. But an aqueous solution of alkali reacts extremely aggressively to any fats (including flavors and impurities). It would seem that it should be so! But the reaction produces glycerin and ... soap!

Ask any person involved in soap making exactly how the soap base is created. Soap is really "boiled" from fat (remember the movie "Fight Club"), adding lye and water. The result is a first-class soap, similar in type and smell to laundry soap.

On a huge number of sites on alcoholic beverages and home brewing it is written that “this method<>tested over the years, a lot of people prefer it ”, although even a superficial study of the issue allows us to assert that such texts are written by extremely illiterate and not grounded from a scientific point of view, illiterate ignoramuses.

Purification of moonshine with a water filter Aquaphor

Water filters (both Aquaphor and Barrier filters) are based on activated carbon, so there is no fundamental difference between using a simple column with activated carbon and the Aquaphor water filter. Purification of moonshine using filters "Aquaphor" or "Barrier" is simply more convenient, but significantly more expensive. It will be much cheaper and more cost effective to pass the alcohol through a vertical tube clogged with activated carbon.

Moreover, this does not mean at all that the use of Aquaphor filters for purifying moonshine is meaningless - the filters are simply quite expensive, and their effectiveness is comparable to ordinary activated carbon tablets.

Cleaning moonshine with a gas mask

Gas masks differ from each other in different cassettes, which contain a variety of absorbents. Some still use asbestos as an absorbent. Therefore, almost any gas mask will spoil the moonshine rather than make it better.

To summarize

So, summarize the article.

  • The most effective and inexpensive method of purifying moonshine from fusel oils is charcoal and activated carbon. Coconut charcoal, which is part of the activated charcoal, also showed itself well.
  • The use of potassium permanganate to purify moonshine leads to the appearance of acetaldehyde and heavy metal salt inside the moonshine. Moonshine becomes toxic and dangerous.
  • The use of lye (including baking soda) produces glycerin and soap bases.
  • The use of water filters as tools for purifying moonshine makes sense, however, in comparison with simple activated carbon, this method loses in terms of economic feasibility.
  • Cleaning moonshine with a gas mask in 9 cases out of 10 leads to mail and poisoning of moonshine.

To obtain high-quality alcohol and moonshine, it is better to use double or triple distillation and distillation. Be sure to use a dry steamer capable of catching 60-80% of all oils even during distillation. It is imperative to throw out the "head" - that is, the first 50 ml from each liter of mash. In the "body" after the first and second distillation, there will still be a small amount of aromatic compounds, which are best simply removed with activated carbon. This will avoid contaminating your moonshine with harmful substances. World alcohol producers filter their products with coal, without any newfangled methods using milk, bread or chicken eggs(there are also such ways!)

It is not worth trusting people who argue their technology for making moonshine with the phrases “they have brewed this way all their lives”, “no one has died yet”, “it has always been like this”. It is better to open a textbook on chemistry and physics once again than to go to the forums of uneducated moonshiners who barely finished nine classes of a rural school.

Novice moonshiners do not always pay enough attention to cleaning moonshine at home, more experienced ones know that cleaning the moonshine from fusel oils, harmful to health, is simply necessary.

Purification of moonshine also helps to remove a specific smell. It should be noted that you should not clean the moonshine that has just been driven out, let it cool down and settle for at least a day. If the strength of the moonshine is high, then it must be diluted with clean water to 35-40 alcoholic degrees. This is done so that the moonshine gives off fusel oils more easily. There are many ways to clean moonshine at home. Let's take a closer look at some of them:

Purification of moonshine with potassium permanganate

Take crystals of potassium permanganate at the rate of half a teaspoon for 3 liters of moonshine, gently stir everything until the crystals are completely dissolved and set the container with moonshine to settle. After some time, a cloudy precipitate with flakes forms at the bottom, but the smell of moonshine will noticeably improve. When the moonshine becomes crystal clear, carefully pour it with a hose into a clean, prepared container, taking care not to touch the layer at the bottom with the precipitated sediment. The next stage of cleaning is filtration. Take ordinary activated carbon, which is sold in the pharmacy (one package is enough for 3 liters), a funnel for draining the liquid and filter paper or ordinary paper napkins. Put paper on the bottom of the funnel, pour activated carbon crushed into powder on top and cover with a second layer of paper. It turns out a homemade charcoal filter. Carefully pour the liquid through it. Dilute the moonshine filtered in this way to 25-28 degrees, and then distill it again and repeat the whole cleaning process again. The resulting product is already ready for use, but if the moonshine goes through three cycles of such a process, then the quality of the moonshine will noticeably improve.

Purification of moonshine with charcoal

This method is very simple and effective. Take charcoal from birch, linden, oak or fruit trees, crush it into small pieces. You can also buy special processed charcoal for winemakers. And directly put directly into the jar of moonshine at the rate of one handful per three-liter jar... To reduce coal dust, sift the coal first. Close the jar tightly with a nylon lid. Leave it there for a week, shake the jar vigorously 2-3 times a day from time to time. After that, let it stand for one and a half to two weeks at rest. A cloudy precipitate formed at the bottom. Now let's get down to the filtering process. Carefully drain the settled moonshine through a funnel with cotton pads. If the filters become clogged and the filtration process goes slowly, you need to change the cotton pads.

Cleaning moonshine with milk

This method has long been used by our ancestors. It has its own advantages - it is absolutely safe, it does not need to be distilled again, it can be combined with other cleaning methods, but moonshine can turn out to be somewhat unclear in appearance. It is important that the milk is skimmed, the fatter the milk, the more turbid the moonshine. You only need to use pasteurized milk.

For 10 liters of unrefined moonshine, take 100 or 150 grams of low-fat milk. Add milk to moonshine, mix everything thoroughly. Cover tightly with a lid and set in a dark place for a week. The first five days, at least once, the contents of the jar must be shaken. White flakes should form in the jar. Under the influence of milk protein, harmful impurities precipitate. Drain the moonshine into a clean jar through several layers of cotton wool. For greater cleaning effect, crushed activated carbon can be placed between the layers. The resulting moonshine is ready for use. If it comes out unclear, run it again through charcoal and cotton wool or filter paper.

Cleaning moonshine with black bread

Is there some more interesting option cleaning moonshine with freshly baked black bread, which perfectly absorbs fusel oils and additionally gives moonshine a pleasant smell. Lying or stale bread will not work, since the moonshine will get an unpleasant aftertaste. We break fresh black bread into small pieces at the rate of 100 g of bread per liter of moonshine, put in moonshine, mix well until the pieces become soaked and disintegrate. Let it settle for a couple of days and filter it using the above described method.

Cleaning moonshine with egg white

Moonshine purification freezing method

Perhaps the simplest cleaning method that does not require dancing with filters, coals and additional distillations is to freeze the moonshine. It has long been noticed that when it freezes, the water takes with it all the harmful fusel oils and the moonshine is purified in such a simple way. Place the moonshine in a metal bucket or glass jar in the cold or in the freezer of the refrigerator. The water freezes, turning into ice with impurities, and the moonshine itself, which is not afraid of frosts, is poured into a prepared container. For greater effect, you can do this several times.

Whichever method you choose to clean your moonshine, they all have their own advantages and disadvantages. You can experimentally determine which method is the best for you, but in any case, moonshine must be cleaned, and then instead of a dubious quality and a very peculiar smelling alcoholic liquid, you will get a completely refined alcoholic drink, from which you can later get excellent tinctures or homemade liqueurs ...

High-quality cleaning of homemade moonshine will make it not only tastier. You will forever forget about a hangover and a sore head.

Why from some drinks we get a slight intoxication and a complete absence of a hangover, while others literally knock us down, and significantly undermine our health the next morning? It's all about foreign impurities that go into the load of alcohol. Anyone who makes moonshine himself knows perfectly well that cleaning moonshine is an obligatory stage in the preparation of a truly high-quality drink. And there are scientific and folk recipes how best to do it.

It should be noted that all methods of purifying moonshine from fusel oils give results, but differ in the degree of effectiveness. It is recommended to clean the product diluted to a strength of less than 35 ° (preferably less), since fusel oils are easier to separate from the water-alcohol mixture precisely at this concentration. In general, moonshine should be left standing for 1-2 days and cooled to room temperature or below the temperature before cleaning.

Coal

Almost unanimous opinion of domestic distillers: purification of moonshine from fusel oils using charcoal or activated charcoal is the fastest and most effective. Cleaning is carried out in different ways:

  1. When distilling moonshine, the freshly arriving product should fall into a jar with a funnel. First, a cotton pad is placed in the funnel, then small fractions of coal, then larger ones, on top of all this is covered with several cotton pads. Thus, the purification of moonshine from fusel oils occurs immediately and without unnecessary difficulties.
  2. Another way to clean charcoal is to pour it into a jar of moonshine. Let it stand for several days (2 to 14), then strain through cheesecloth.

This is an excellent cleaning of moonshine before the second distillation. It is recommended to take charcoal, preferably birch. Also very good is the one used in water purification filters. Often they also contain silver, which is also great for cleaning moonshine at home and even at the factory. There are also specialized varieties for distillers on sale.

So that the purification of moonshine before the second distillation or during the first and second distillation was effective, coal must be used at the rate of 50 g / 1 l. That is how much it needs to be thrown into the jar. The same flow rate should be when filtering through a funnel, that is, the filter needs to be changed from time to time.

Potassium permanganate

Everyone's favorite body cleaner - potassium permanganate - is another option for quickly purifying moonshine. We take 3 grams of potassium permanganate and dilute in 0.3 liters warm water so that the solution is homogeneous. Pour into 3 liters of the finished product and stand for several hours. You can add a spoonful of baking soda and a spoonful of salt to the water solution. The moonshine that has settled for 12 hours must be filtered through a layer of cotton wool.

Milk

An excellent home brew cleaning is the addition of milk. It should be noted that this method should be used after the final distillation, the first, second, third. The fact is that no matter how you try to filter the solution, protein particles will still remain in it, which, when heated, will give an unpleasant smell and some taste.

To clean 20 liters of a product with a strength of 50 °, 200 ml of milk is required. It should be pasteurized and not more than 1-1.5% fat. What you need to do to clean the moonshine from fusel oils correctly:

  • pour milk into the finally rectified moonshine;
  • shake thoroughly;
  • close with a lid so that the degree does not go away, and put for 7 days in a dark place at a temperature of about + 20 ° C;
  • shake the mixture thoroughly for five days in a row so that all the milk reacts;
  • the suspension will settle for two days;
  • now is the time to filter through layers of cotton wool.

If the drink turns out to be unclear, you can add a peel of any citrus fruit to it and let it stand for a day. If you do not plan to ennoble the moonshine with third-party flavors, then add very little zest - 1 fruit per 3 liters. It is believed that this The best way, because this is how vodka is cleaned in production, but not specifically milk is used, but an active substance for this process - casein protein.

Egg white

By analogy with the milk method, purification of moonshine from fusel oils can be carried out with egg white. For 1.5 liters of moonshine with a strength of 50 °, one protein is taken. It must be whipped with a glass of warm water and poured into the drink. Further, the technology is the same as for milk cleaning.

Freezing

An old cleaning method that allows you to get relatively clean even denatured alcohol product - freezing. A container with moonshine - best of all, an aluminum saucepan with a lid - is placed in freezer at least 12 hours. Water and harmful fractions will freeze to the walls, and alcohol, which freezes at lower temperatures, will remain. If you freeze moonshine at home, remember that its strength will be higher than before the procedure.

Fruits

To remove impurities and give the product a fruity flavor, cleaning the moonshine before the second distillation with fruit is suitable. Such processing is also good as a finishing - a distinct fruity flavor remains.

For 3 liters of product with a strength of about 25 ° add 1 carrot and 1 apple. Cut them into large pieces, remove the core from the apple. It is necessary to defend the moonshine for 2-3 days until the fibers begin to exfoliate from the fruit. Then they can be taken out, and the solution can be distilled or used in this form.

Soda

All distillers have access to purification of moonshine before the second distillation with soda. The product is inexpensive and always available
in the House. Proportions: 10 g / 1 l, settling time - at least 12 hours. To remove the sediment, we use a fine filter for cleaning (cotton wool, cotton pads).

Butter

There is another original way to clean home moonshine - with refined oil. This is possible due to the fact that water and alcohol do not mix with it, and fusel oils stick together with drops. vegetable oil... Proportions: 20 g / 1 liter, the oil should be as pure as possible, odorless and tasteless. Thoroughly shake the vessel with the solution, repeat the procedure every 5 minutes 3-4 times. We leave it for 12 hours to settle.

After that, carefully drain the purified moonshine through a tube lowered to the bottom. You can do the same by turning the bottle over and letting the oil film rise up (to the bottom of the bottle), after which you can carefully drain the suspension through a slightly loosened plug. The remains are filtered through cotton wool.

Clean as a tear

It is obvious that even moonshine broken into fractions (head-body-tail) still needs to remove impurities. If you use one or more methods of purification of moonshine and secondary distillation, you can get a product that will be much better in purity than any factory product. Then you and your friends will remember the hangover only in jokes.

Moonshine is one of the favorite drinks of village (and not only) residents. Almost every village has kept the secrets of making this strong intoxicating drink for a long time, the "zest" invented by ancestors and time-tested are passed on from generation to generation. Among them, for example, is such a secret: how to cleanse moonshine from fusel oils. This is what concerns the criterion of the benefits and harms of the "first" for human health. But first, let's talk about how to remove the smell from moonshine.

Unpleasant "on the nose"

It should be noted that almost any neophyte of the moonshine business is faced with the problem of an unpleasant smell, even thoroughly, with the soul of a kicked out drink. It is caused by fusel oils formed during primary distillation. You can't get away from this and it's not worth it, believe me, to get very upset about this! After all, our folk craftsmen have long come up with several simple and enough effective methods helping to clean the moonshine at home. We will consider only the most popular, but in fact there is a great variety of them, for every taste, as they say.

How to clean moonshine with potassium permanganate?

To implement this method, we take three liters of a ready-made, just expelled drink (but, as already indicated, with an unpleasant odor). Add up to three grams of manganese powder (sold in pharmacies) to the moonshine. We are waiting for the precipitate to fall. This usually happens quickly enough. To speed up the process, close the jar of moonshine with a lid and shake it several times. You can also put the dishes themselves with a cloudy liquid - not yet cleaned - on water bath with a low temperature (fifteen minutes will be enough). After all the procedures, we filter the moonshine through cheesecloth. We pour it into bottles. Consume in moderation!

How to clean homemade moonshine with soda?

This is another popular method. Because it's simple and cheap! So, for one liter of drink, add ten grams of regular soda (sold in any grocery store), mix, insist for half an hour. After that, mix again and already insist in a dark place for ten to twelve hours. Our cloudy substance has exfoliated during this time. Now carefully merge the top layer. We also carefully remove the sediment formed at the bottom of the dishes. We bottle the middle part and drink. I must say that soda will perfectly remove the fusel oils themselves, which cause unpleasant odors.

Violet root

Used for cleansing mainly in the countryside where this flower grows. But the fact is that the medicinal root can now be purchased in any phyto-pharmacy, so this process is significantly accelerated. So, we take one hundred grams of chopped violet root into three liters of unrefined moonshine and insist in a dark, warm place for twelve days. We filter. The drink is ready!

Freezing

This method is traditionally simple and quite cheap because it only requires a refrigerator (rather, the freezer of this household kitchen appliance). We take metal dishes ( good quality, without impurities) or glass containers. We pour our moonshine there and put it in the freezer. The effect is simple: water, along with harmful impurities, will freeze to the edges of the dishes, but the moonshine itself will not. After the water is completely frozen, the moonshine just needs to be poured into another container. By the way, in some villages, historically, quite large batches of moonshine were purified this way. all year round using specially designed underground glaciers, where ice or snow kept until late autumn.

Charcoal filter

How to cleanse moonshine from fusel oils using charcoal obtained from birch? To do this, grind the main ingredient into powder. We wrap the coal in several layers of gauze and pass the moonshine through this filter. And we warn you: activated pharmacy charcoal in tablets is not suitable for high-quality cleansing. It is made from animal bones, and it can only absorb large molecules of harmful oils, not completely purifying the product, leaving an unpleasant odor in it.

Double distillation technology

Repeated distillation of the first liquor significantly purifies the drink, significantly improving both the quality and taste. This "clean as morning dew"The product is popularly called" double ". It is especially appreciated, as it is much more useful in its qualities than "single". However, it will take a little more time to prepare it, but the result is a pure crystal distillate without foreign odors and impurities. By the way, almost any moonshine can be distilled for the second time, even regardless of the raw material and the age of its production. Note that it is possible to "ennoble" in this way a drink that has been expelled for a long time. First, the moonshine must be diluted to about thirty-five degrees (measured with an alcohol meter) with plain clean cool water. If you try to distill a stronger substance, then it may end in fire itself moonshine still due to the high concentration of alcohol vapors. Moreover, strong moonshine has a fairly strong molecular bond with fusel oils. As a result, double distillation will not give the desired result.

Secret: it is very important to pour water into moonshine, and not, on the contrary, moonshine into water. This will prevent the resulting liquid from becoming cloudy. Before the actual distillation, the source must be cleaned. You can choose any of the methods listed above in the article. For example, cleaning with manganese solution, soda or charcoal. After cleaning, strain the resulting liquid through a filter made of cotton wool and gauze. The secondary distillation itself is virtually indistinguishable from the original distillation. However, it is important to separate the fractions of the resulting moonshine at the exit. "Heads", the first ten percent of the distillate, must not be drunk! They are also identified by an unpleasant, fetid odor. The next part, about eighty percent, is the "body." It is harvested until the fortress drops to forty-five degrees. The remaining fraction is “tails”. It is also not recommended to drink it, but it can be used to add to the next wash in order to increase the degree. The resulting moonshine with a strength of up to seventy degrees no longer needs additional cleaning. It remains only to dilute it to 40-45 degrees in a consistency favorable for drinking the drink.

"Milk" cleaning method

They often ask: "How to cleanse moonshine from fusel oils with milk?" There are two ways, and if you use them correctly, you can get a drink of special purity!

First: we add milk directly to the mash until it is distilled. So, you need to mix five liters of mash and one liter of milk. Start distillation. Drive out slowly, with a special passion. During the first distillation, a cloudy precipitate is sometimes observed. Then the drink is distilled once more.

Second: how to clean moonshine with milk? A glass of milk is added to one liter of ready-made moonshine. It collapses and absorbs various harmful elements. After the milk has curdled, the drink is filtered and additionally filtered with charcoal (fifty grams per liter of liquid). The process takes place within one week. Sometimes - every two to three days - the mixture must be shaken. At the end of the period, the liquid begins to brighten, and a coal sediment falls to the bottom. It is sucked off with a tube. The rest is filtered. It is also recommended to carry out additional cleaning with bread (preferably black rye or grain), after which the moonshine acquires a very pleasant bread aroma. Now you know many ways to cleanse moonshine from fusel oils.

It is important to know

What does moonshine actually consist of? In addition to water and ethyl alcohol, it contains a variety of impurities, which, in the production of, for example, good vodka are removed from it by various industrial methods. And in the manufacture of whiskey, cognac, tequila, on the contrary, they are cultivated to give the drink originality, style, sound. For this, there are industrial methods of artificially interrupting the purification process.

But in fact, these same impurities also form the hangover syndrome in a person who has slightly "gone over". Tequila, for example, contains high molecular weight alcohols that are part of these impurities (up to two hundred), which form fusel oils. When drinking, they put a heavy load on the liver, which, as it were, is "distracted" by additional information, which prolongs the intoxication and aggravates the hangover at times. So those who have at least minor liver problems are not recommended to drink unrefined drinks, including moonshine.
