Lavash snail pie recipe. Lavash and minced meat pie

Everyone, everyone, good day to everyone!
I am sure that every housewife has seen the recipe or tried to make snail pie. It can be made from puff pastry and pita bread. With different fillings. Sweet, with apples and berries, meat and fish... I'll show you today how I make it. I hope it will be useful to those who did not know and have not done it, and will not cause a storm of indignation among those who are experienced and knowledgeable.

I bake the pie in a frying pan with a diameter of 26 cm. For this volume you need:
- minced chicken about 0.5 kg;
- champignons about 0.25 kg;
- onion, 1 large onion;
- oil for frying;
- 6 sheets of thin pita bread /we have it in the form of pancakes with a diameter of 30 cm/;
- for filling: 3 tbsp. spoons of mayonnaise (sour cream), 3 tablespoons of ketchup (tomato paste, or grate fresh tomatoes), 3 eggs, spices to your taste;
- cheese about 100 gr.

Fry minced meat, mushrooms, and onions for filling. Salt and pepper to taste.

We spread the filling onto a sheet of lavash, wrap it with a roll, leave for 10 minutes so that the lavash gets wet with the broth and does not tear when rolling.

Some recipes add sauces and grated cheese to the rolls. I do without it.

Mix eggs, mayonnaise/sour cream, ketchup/tomato paste. I pureed fresh tomatoes. Dry mixture of Provençal herbs.
I sprinkled the baking dish with oil and laid out one pita bread.

I greased the bottom pita bread with the mixture and laid out the rolls in a circle.

I poured the mixture in, there should be quite a lot of it - it should completely cover the rolls.
I bake at 180 for about 25 minutes - the top should be baked.

Then I sprinkle some grated cheese on top and put it in the oven for another five minutes.

Snail Pie is a very interesting and intriguing name for a dish, isn’t it? In fact, this is a very simple pie to make, but it looks impressive - you can safely serve it even at the holiday table as an appetizer.

Besides the fact that snail pie is very simple to prepare, you don’t need a large list of products, because its highlight is in its appearance. It will be based on the most ordinary unleavened pita bread, lightly greased with a mixture of sour cream and eggs. Thanks to this, the pita bread is more flexible and easy to work with, and after cooking, this mixture will help it maintain its interesting, intricate shape.

The classic, win-win combination of cheese and herbs was chosen as the filling for the lavash pie. In addition, the cheese part consists of a mixture of hard cheese and fatty cottage cheese, which will make the filling more tender. As for the greens, here you can safely choose the one that you like: you can give preference to the usual combination of parsley, dill and green onions, or you can add basil, cilantro, spinach and even soft stems of young garlic for a spicy aroma.

Ingredients for a pie with a diameter of 20 cm

  • 2 large pita breads (about 700 grams total)
  • 150 grams of hard cheese
  • 100 grams of cottage cheese
  • 1 egg
  • a small bunch of parsley, dill and green onions
  • 2-3 tbsp. spoons of sour cream
  • 3 tbsp. spoons of milk
  • salt, pepper - to taste
  • a little vegetable oil to grease the pan

How to make snail pie from lavash

First you need to prepare the filling for the pie. To do this, grate the cheese on a fine grater and mix it with cottage cheese. Mix the mixture thoroughly until the curd breaks up.

Chop the green onions, finely chop the parsley and dill. Mix the cheese mixture and herbs. Salt and pepper the filling to taste. Mix the curd and cheese filling thoroughly.

In a separate small bowl, whisk together the egg and sour cream. Stir until smooth.

Then add milk so that the mass becomes a little more liquid and it is convenient to lubricate the pita bread.

Spread the pita bread on the table, overlapping them slightly.

Brush the entire surface of the pita bread with some of the egg-sour cream mixture.

Spread the filling over the pita bread, leaving 3-4 cm from the edges.

Roll the pita bread into a roll and then wrap it into a snail-like spiral.

Grease a baking dish with a small amount of vegetable oil and place the pie in it.

Pour the remaining egg-sour cream mixture over the top of the pie.

Bake the snail pie in an oven preheated to 200 degrees until golden brown. Depending on your oven this may take a different amount of time, ours took 30 minutes.

Carefully remove the finished lavash pie from the mold and cut into portions.

This “Snail” is very tasty both warm and cold.

From the most ordinary thin pita bread you can make an incredibly tasty and satisfying puff pastry meat pie!

Ingredients:

round shape (diameter 20 cm):

3 thin pita breads with a diameter of approximately 45 cm;

300 grams of minced meat (beef here);

large onion;

1 small tomato (or a tablespoon of tomato paste);

100 grams of cheese;

2 large eggs;

180-200 grams of sour cream;

salt,

spices,

vegetable oil,

Here's everything you need to make a delicious pie.

Preparation:

1. Saute the pre-chopped onion for 3-5 minutes in vegetable oil.

2. Add minced meat, simmer until half cooked over moderate heat for about 10 minutes;

3. Add diced tomato to the minced meat and simmer for about 6 minutes.

4. Preheat the oven to 200°. We straighten the pita bread and distribute half of the filling over it.

5. Sprinkle half of the grated cheese on top.

6. Roll it up. We do the same with the second pita bread.

7. Prepare the filling: beat sour cream and eggs until smooth, add salt.

8. Grease a round mold (you can line it with parchment), put a whole pita bread in it so that the edges hang over the sides of the mold. We put two prepared rolls in it, twisted in the shape of a snail. At this stage, fill the “snails” with half of the sour cream filling.

The pie turned out very, very tasty, I definitely recommend it.

Products:
2 large sheets of thin pita bread. I'm about 80/40
600-700 grams of minced meat
Vegetables (3 onions, 4 hot peppers, a couple of garlic cloves)
Cheese gram 200
Sauce (I have "Chili Spicy" bamboo stalk)
Sour cream (almost half a liter jar was used)
2 eggs
salt pepper

Yes, there are not 2 or 3 products, but they are all quite affordable and are often available at home even without special shopping.

1. Chop the onion. It doesn't have to be small. Fry until translucent/light golden.

2. Defrost the minced meat. Maybe not completely.

3. Add minced meat to the onion. Let them fry together. Stir occasionally. Until the color of the minced meat changes.

4. Meanwhile, chop several hot peppers (I have 3 red ones, 1 fleshy green one), and a couple of cloves of garlic.

5. Beat 2 eggs with a couple of tablespoons of sour cream. Salt and pepper. The resulting liquid is approximately the same as milk.

6. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. What is in the photo is not enough, I took 2 such handfuls.

7. Just then the minced meat changed color. Salt it. Add peppers and garlic to the minced meat and a couple of tablespoons of sauce. You can add other seasonings, I didn't use anything else.

8. Fry the minced meat with the sauce and peppers for a couple of minutes so that the flavors mix and the excess liquid from the sauce evaporates. The garlic should break easily with a spatula.

9. Fried minced meat in a blender or meat grinder. In the photo: on top in the blender - the consistency of just fried minced meat, on the bottom - additionally ground. The puree should have a very delicate consistency. In principle, you can skip this step, but I really don’t recommend it.

10. Spread the pita bread on the table. Grease the entire surface of the lavash with sour cream. About 2 tbsp. it took me a sheet. Sprinkle grated cheese on top without fanaticism. Coat the top with minced meat. (Half of the total mass, we have 2 pita breads). The layer of minced meat cannot be made thin - it will be tasteless. But you can’t make it too thick, again it won’t be very good. Approximately a layer of minced meat is as thick as lavash or a little thicker. I stepped back a little from the edge of the pita bread so that the minced meat wouldn’t accidentally fall out.

11. Roll the lavash into a roll along the long side (the length of the roll is a little more than 80 cm for me). I shredded the ends of the roll because, as it seemed to me, there was not enough minced meat at the ends. By the way, you can eat this - it’s already delicious)))

12. Do the same with the second pita bread and with the remaining sour cream, cheese, minced meat. Roll two rolls into a snail shape. I had a mistake: the small pan turned out to be too small for two rolls, but the large frying pan was already too big (as can be seen from the photo). Next time I will make the same from 3 pita breads))) Pour 2 snail-rolled rolls with the glaze (which we did in step 5).

13. Leave on the table so that the pita bread gets wet. Both with filling on one side and meat on the other. Since my watering was spilling around, I scooped up the spilled water with a spoon and poured it on top. But, in my opinion, it was unnecessary. Although the filling here is very on topic. She holds everything together and makes it beautiful, beautiful. Pop into a hot oven. We check it periodically until you are satisfied with the color. It took me 25 minutes.

14. Cut, enjoy. The taste on the second day is almost the same as on the first, if it survives.

I had a day of preparation and, in addition to the pie, I made the most delicious meat. I can show you a photo of the meat as proof. But my husband came home well-fed and immediately went to bed, didn’t try anything, didn’t even go into the kitchen. I wrote him a note that the pie turned out delicious, let him try it. And also that there is meat. In the morning I wake up, my husband is drinking tea.
- Well, dear, I had breakfast.
“I had breakfast,” muttered the husband.
- Didn’t you find the pie? - I asked.
“I found it,” the husband muttered again.
- Didn't like it? - I gasped. Well, you never know, maybe on the second day it’s not as tasty as I tried it hot.
“I wanted to eat a piece of pie, and then a piece of meat.” But in the end I ate 3 pieces of pie, now I can’t get meat into me because of this pie! - it turned out why my husband was out of sorts))) He’s the one laughing at me so much. I went to work happy and full.

I didn’t know before what kind of force would force my husband to eat something else when there is a most delicious piece of meat in the house. Anton said about meat:
- Mom, this meat is one hundred out of a hundred!

In general, definitely take note of the pie. You'll have to tinker a little, but it's not difficult)) And everyone who ate liked the result, and I, my husband, and my mother-in-law ate, by the way))

We grind any meat, it depends on your preferences, into minced meat with onions, add herbs, salt and pepper.

Place a sheet of pita bread and grease it with prepared minced meat. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.

Roll it up and do the same with the second sheet of pita bread.

Beat the sauce of eggs, sour cream, mayonnaise and ketchup in a mixer to pour over the pie.

We grease the mold or multicooker pan with vegetable oil, roll our rolls into snails and pour out all the prepared sauce for filling. So I rolled them right away, they cracked a little, and if you wait 5-7 minutes, the pita bread will become softer and will not burst.

Turn on the microwave in the “Baking” mode for 50 minutes. Next, turn off and leave with the lid closed for 15 minutes, then another 10 with the lid open. If cooking in the oven, then set at 180 degrees for 30 -40 minutes in a round shape or non-stick pan

Take the steamer basket, insert it into the saucepan and, with a magical movement of your hands, turn the saucepan over

That's all, now you know how to prepare meat snail from pita bread, I'm sure you will really like it just as much as I do.

When the pie has cooled slightly, you can cut it into small pieces and enjoy the deliciousness.

Now there are some more additions to the recipe. Everyone liked the pie so much that on the second day I had to cook it again, but I didn’t have a lot of minced meat, I had 300 grams left from yesterday. And I cheated and added coarsely grated potatoes to the minced meat. And What do you think, was he worse? No, it seems even tastier to me, at least there was nothing left on the plate.

And this is it in cross-section. So experiment with the fillings and you will succeed.

All the best to you and be happy!!!
