Recipe: Chicken with Oranges - Chicken thighs with oranges in honey and soy marinade. How to cook chicken thighs with orange and lemon in the oven - a step by step recipe with a photo Chicken thighs in orange soy sauce

Today for lunch I decided to cook chicken thighs in honey-soy sauce with oranges, baked in the oven. I cook this dish often and serve it with either potatoes or rice.

For cooking, I need chicken thighs, soy sauce, honey, garlic, spices, salt, granular mustard, vegetable oil (it's generally better, of course, to use olive oil, but I didn't have it, so I had to be content with vegetable oil).

So, first you need to prepare the marinade. To do this, I melted honey in the microwave so that it has a liquid consistency.

I added grainy mustard and soy sauce to honey.

I had very little soy sauce left, so I poured out everything that was in the bottle, it turned out three tablespoons of tablespoons.

Chopped the garlic finely and also added to the marinade.

Stir everything well.

To the marinade I added a mixture of spices (red and black pepper), as well as a little salt. You need very little salt, since the soy sauce already added to the marinade is salty, and the dish can be easily salted. I took one orange, squeezed the juice out of it and poured it into the marinade.

The marinade is ready.

I chopped the chicken thighs into three parts and later regretted it, I still had to chop it into two, during the frying process they naturally decreased in size.

She dipped the chopped thighs into the marinade, rubbed them thoroughly with the mixture, covered them with a lid and put them in the refrigerator so that they were thoroughly soaked. Each housewife chooses the time here herself, which one she has, my thighs were pickled for 2 hours.

After two hours, I took out my thighs, put them in a baking sheet slightly greased with vegetable oil.

I cut the second orange into circles, without peeling the peel, put it on top of the chicken.

I send the dish into an oven preheated to 180 degrees, then I turn down the heat, the thighs will be ready in 30-40 minutes.

Step 1. Rub the citrus zest. The aroma mainly lives in the peel of the fruit. So that it does not evaporate, I advise you to put the finished zest immediately into the bag.

Step 2. Then cut the lime in half. Squeeze the juice out of the half directly into the bag where the zest is stored. Repeat this process with an orange and half a lemon. Be careful not to squeeze out the seeds.

Step 3. Peel and chop the garlic cloves, then add to the marinade. Peel the rosemary and thyme leaves and chop finely. Thanks to this, they will maximize their aroma. Add the herbs to the marinade, then drizzle with olive oil.

Step 4. Season lightly with salt / pepper and spoon to combine all ingredients.

Step 5. We send the chicken in a bag to the fragrant mass and seal it well. Turn over the bag with the contents a couple of times so that the mixture evenly covers the meat. We place the bag in a saucepan so that it does not stain anything in case of a leak. And we send it to the refrigerator for 4-6 hours.
